The "Malazan Book of the Fallen" (or, MBotF) is not a recounting of an epic struggle between Good and Evil. In terms of progression, however, best you hold off on reaching any conclusions, until you've read the rest of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Wow, after three months I finished the whole Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Sure, there are still Malazan Empire series by Then we have the Bonehunters, with the Snake and Khundryls. Series: The Malazan Book of the Fallen. Quietly stealing me away from the song of ice and fire. For myself, I see a very discernible progression, leading up to Forge of Darkness.
