A native of Arizona, she is a Did the writing process for The Darkest Minds differ dramatically from Brightly Woven? I've had the chance to read many upcoming books and while many of them were REALLY good, Brightly Woven is the one that stuck with me the most. Alexandra Bracken, Brightly Woven Sydelle has lived her whole life in a small desert village that has gone ten years without rain. Happily Chosen: Brightly Woven Review. Brightly Woven is an enchanting fantasy YA novel. Author Alexandra Bracken (BRIGHTLY WOVEN) has THE DARKEST MINDS (previously titled BLACK IS THE COLOR) coming out with Hyperion in December 2012. It's a clothing range that's brightly coloured and includes black and grey woven leggings with bright yellow jumpers and green t-shirts. Brightly Woven was an enjoyable read, with pretty good characterization and plot. It still took some time for me to understand everything-things are revealed throughout the novel, so you discover the world and how magic works in pieces. Alexandra Bracken is the author of The Darkest Minds and Brightly Woven.
